Theater

The Theater

The White House Cloakroom was converted into a movie theater in 1942, under President Franklin Roosevelt. During World War II, the President and his staff watched newsreel footage there.

Several Presidential familes, including the Trumans and the Eisenhowers, enjoyed watching Hollywood movies in the theater on the weekends.
