Second Basemen |
Fans of baseball know the key to a great defensive team is up the middle. That is, the best defenders occupy catcher, second base, shortstop and center field. Second basemen must be sure handed to field ground balls and turn double plays all the while being brave and nimble enough to take on a runner who is trying to break up the double play. The game has seen many great defenders at this position but to find a second sacker who is considered an offensive weapon separates most of the greats at this key position.
