On February 10, 1976, President Gerald Ford issued the first Presidential message observing the celebration of Black History Month. To honor the 50th anniversary of this important moment in American history, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum will have the original message on display from February 4 to 28.
Join us at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, for a special Gallery Chat on this holiday’s history with one of our National Archives team members. The Gallery Chat is free with museum admission and allows visitors to the Ford Presidential Museum to view documents, photos, videos, and objects that aren’t normally on display.
