Ford that contain discussions of his childhood, education, experiences in World War II, years in Congress, and his presidency. Armbrister also interviewed approximately 50 of Ford’s associates including family members, personal acquaintances from Grand Rapids, Congressional colleagues, and former Ford administration staff members. Among them are Betty Ford, Melvin Laird, Robert Griffin, Nelson Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, Benton Becker, Philip Buchen, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Robert Hartmann. A few of the recordings are oral notes Armbrister made about documents that Ford provided to him for background information.
