Shortstop |
Traditionally, a team’s best fielder occupies the critical position of shortstop, which demands a great glove, strong arm and the range to stop balls from reaching the outfield grass. In the past few decades, baseball has seen a dramatic change at short with players such as Cal Ripken Jr. and Alex Rodriguez putting up offensive numbers that were unheard of by previous players at the position. Today’s game has several shortstops whose power hitting complements their stellar fielding.
