 In 1983, Hope got the call from Beirut and he was "on the road again." Four years later, in 1987, he flew around the world entertaining servicemen and women in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans, and the Persian Gulf.

His 1990 goodwill tour began in May with shows scheduled at military installations in England, Russia and Germany. By Christmas he and his wife Dolores found themselves in Saudi Arabia, entertaining the servicemen and women of "Operation Desert Storm."
