Less than a month after becoming president, Gerald Ford meets with Israeli prime minister Yitzak Rabin in the Oval Office, along with Deputy National Security Advisor Brent Scowcroft and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. September 19, 1974


       


We had some very tough negotiations with Prime Minister Rabin, but he really understood the need for a step-by-step process of trying to eliminate the conflict between the Arabs and the Israelis.
