Archives are repositories of the records of individuals
and organizations. Their purpose is to preserve records of enduring value and
make them available for use. The Ford Presidential Library holds the records
of the Ford White House (1974-77) and much else. It is part of a system of presidential
libraries run by the National Archives and Records Administration.
