Use of the Library Facility

Library interior Welcome to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library, a unique venue for meetings and special events. The facility offers event versatility that is unique, with a variety of indoor and outdoor settings which can be adapted to your specific needs.

From our beautifully manicured grounds to our dignified interior, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library offers a prestigious venue for a meeting, lecture, dinner, or reception with its variety of facility options designed to accommodate groups of 10 to 300. Conveniently located on the University of Michigan’s North Campus, the Library provides easy access, security, and adjacent parking.  

Whether you are planning a business meeting for 30 or a gala reception for 200, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library can meet all your special event needs:

Library Main Lobby
The expansive main lobby of the library is an exceptional setting for dinners, special addresses, and receptions. A variety of permanent and temporary exhibits serve as an impressive backdrop.  (Room size: 3500 square foot; Capacity: Sit-down dinner: 175, Standing Reception: 350)

Auditorium
The 1700 square foot stage and audio/visual-equipped auditorium has the versatility to accommodate symposiums, educational presentations, cultural events, award ceremonies, and musical performances, among others. (Capacity: 200)

Educational Classrooms
These rooms are ideal for meetings and seminars where participants need a classroom atmosphere and set-up. The classroom can be divided into two rooms, each with excellent layout possibilities. (Full classroom: 1000 square foot; Capacity: 60; Sectioned classroom: 500 square foot; Capacity: 25)

Library Courtyard
For seasonal functions, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library grounds are available. The patio, well groomed lawn and garden backdrop make a perfect venue for more casual company events. (Capacity: Standing Reception: 300. By special arrangement only.)

Catering
We do not have in house catering facilities, but we do have a preferred catering list with a variety of price ranges to choose from. Outside caterers are permissible once they have met the Library’s approval process. At your request, we will be pleased to provide you with a listing of our preferred catering providers.

8:00 a.m.– 9:00 p.m. (weekdays only)
